Here is a challenge game i was sent from the Sugababes twitter site. I was sent the link and started my challenge, its '140 King of Pop', a Michael Jackson game where you do gigs and battles and buy properties etc, trying to earn money and gain stamina etc. Just click on the link and start playing under your own profile name, i bet you cant keep off it once you know what to do. Come on, its free, its addictive, plus it gets you new followers to twitter and facebook, hence, more people to your websites. Ive had 27new members following me in a few days after starting this, and site counter has multiplied. But the game is too addictive, challenge yourself to be the top earner...... enjoy. http://www.140kingofpop.com/?platform=twitter&refuid=65010290&source=direct_install

I contacted moonfruit and they told me there are some issues with it. They said disable it and then log on, which I have done tonight. At first it would not work, but now it appears to be working. Surely I shouldnt have to turn off my internet security to loglin.

Hi Vikki,

Since SiteMaker is Flash-based, it does not respond in the same way to commands as HTML sites. The HTML place-holder around the Flash module does.

We decided to go with fixed width rather than scalable width because fixed is more the industry standard. That doesn't mean some big or well-known sites don't scale but most use fixed width. The problem with scalable sites is that it is extremely difficult to maintain how your site looks on different sized screens, as elements or objects on the site will move position depending on their proximity or relationship to another element on the page.

Regards

comdot

Hi,

I'm a complete newbie with this, I've dowloaded the beginner's guide which I'm hoping will help me. The problem is that I can't even get as far as the basic editng process. I login via the ...mysite.com/login as instructed, I see my website, and I get the "floating" editor, but I don't get the toolbar or sidebar options. The sidebar is there but I'm unable to click anything on it, whilst the tool bar has "Save" and "File", but neither can be clicked and nothing else appears on it (other than "view my website"), ie. it doesn't look like the toolbar in the beginner's guide.

I realise that this is probably because of something I'm not doing, or I've done something incorrectly, so any help would be great. I'm using a template that was offered to me during the "build your site process" - if that is any help.

Thanks

Hi Craig,

If you are using g.mail to receive your forwarded mail from your domain at moonfruit, there is a setting in your g.mail account where you can reply

using another e.mail address provided you own it. This means that you should be able to reply as info@whateveryoursiteiscalled

In Google mail go to settings>accounts and import>send mail as, then set up your masked address in there. Then when you go to send a mail as a reply or a new e.mail you can click on the FROM drop down and you will then see the choices of address you can use which will include your inf@dadedadeda etc.

Hope This helps

Hi folks,

Firstly, excuse me if my question has already been answered elsewhere and I just not intelligent enough to either find it or understand it!

Had a go at building a site for company and I am very happy so far www.oliveoilmachinery.co.uk

I have took the domain name and am forwarding mail from the website to my gmail account.

My question is Can I send a "normal" email using my "info@oliveoilmachinery.co.uk" address?

So when the mail sent reaches the recipient they will see that address?

I had a look in the "people" section of the tool bar but i get the impression that that is for recipients who wish to be members of your page?

Once again sorry if I am being stupid! I am getting on a bit!

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Craig.

Hey Alan,

Good call...but no. I am not sure what forum etiquette is as far as solicitation goes. Perhaps you could illuminate me on this subject...

I was approached recently about adding finishing touches to another Moonfruit site and I had so much fun and it took such a short amount of time (compared to building the site from scratch) that I thought I'd offer this to other new MF users who want to get into the process of building, but need a decorator.

Have a good weekend,

Joywell

joywellweb.com

Here is her new site: http://tnhardwoodpens.moonfruit.com

Hi, Your site has not been crawled by google yet, if you have submitted it to google correctly then be patient it will get around to it soon. In the meantime you can do some work on your meta tags.

Firstly

A check on website Grader reveals a recommendation to reduce the size of your Site description. Currently it has 170 characters, the advice is to have no more than 150 characters.

Secondly, whilst keywords are not a big issue with google if you are using them then they need entering correctly . You nee to follow each keyword with a comma and a space before entering the next one. You have no space. Also you started the first few with commas, and the rest with no commas just a space.

Make sure your keywords are in fact keywords within the site content and not just words loosely associated with the content.

You could also submit your site to Yahoo directories and DMOZ directories

You currently have no incoming links, this is helpful to assist search engines find and crawl your site.

Try to get listed in other directories which are relevant to your site content, and send cold call requests to

good sites that agree to links being added, particularly ones in your website interest area.

Hope this helps.
